New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade

Winter Carnival | Early to Mid-February
This is the oldest Winter Carnival celebration west of the Mississippi. You can watch adults on shovels being pulled down the main street behind horses, athletes performing amazing feats on Howelsen Hill, fireworks, a parade, and much more. While this festival was originally established as a way to help town residents deal with the difficult winters, it now serves as an amazing way to bring community members and visitors together while also celebrating the town’s western heritage.
Steamboat Marathon | Early June
This race has been voted one of the most scenic marathons in the country. If you’re a competitor, you’re sure to have an incredible experience. If you’re a spectator, you’ll have an amazing time cheering on the racers thanks to the friendly, fun, and welcoming atmosphere of the town.
Fourth of July Celebration
Steamboat’s Fourth of July festivities have a little bit of everything. Watch the hometown parade, hang out at the Pioneer Block Party, check out the ski jumpers on Howelsen Hill, and wrap up the day with an incredible fireworks display. Hot Air Balloon Rodeo | Early July
You can enjoy the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo the weekend after the 4th of July. During this event, you’ll see dozens of balloon in the skies over the Yampa Valley and you can also watch the pilots compete in entertaining contests. Mid-day, you’ll find Art in the Park just a short walk away. There, you’ll find arts, crafts, performers, food, and more. Then, at night all the balloons light up for the balloon glow – making for a picture perfect end to the day.
Steamboat Wine Festival | Early August
Delight your senses at the Steamboat Wine Festival, held in early August. This event features wineries, breweries, and distilleries as well as food artisans from all over the country.
Steamboat All Arts Festival | Mid-August
Don’t miss out on this four-day event. As the name suggests, it includes a wide variety of art forms, from musical and dance to visual and literary. You’ll have an amazing cultural experience when you attend this festival.
Wild West Air Fest | Labor Day Weekend
